    Children and teens will “Blast to the Past” at Hays Christian Church’s annual Vacation Bible School, July 6-10! There will be games, snacks, music, Bible lessons, crafts, skits and lots of time-traveling fun! Children ages 2 - grade 5 are invited to attend 6:30-8:45pm each evening. Teens entering grades 6-12 have their own teen time from 9-10pm.

    Embark on an icy expedition where kids overcome obstacles with God's awesome power. Anchor kids in rock-solid Bible truths that will guide them through life's challenges. We begin each evening with a light meal followed by bible stories, games, music and crafts. We will have a pool party on Thursday, July 30th, weather permitting, at Hays Aquatic Park. On Friday, July 31st, we will have our potluck dinner and short program.

    Nex-Tech is pleased to host a charity four-person scramble, with proceeds benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters, a local non-profit organization that provides positive role models for children. Checks can be made payable to Big Brothers Big Sisters as a charitable, tax-deductible donation.

  2. Wild Bill Hickok Returns to Hays City

    July 4, 9:00 AM - 6:00 PM @ Ellis County Historical Society Museum

    James Butler (Wild Bill) Hickok (1837-1876) served as sheriff of Ellis County in 1869. Historical interpreter David Woof of Fort Morgan, Colorado, brings him back to life during Wild West Festival in the saloon and on stage at the Ellis County Historical Society Museum. Plan to have your cameras and questions ready when you visit with Wild Bill. He will also teach you how to play faro, a cowboy card game.
